Take a Break from Revision

We all know that the exam period in Manchester is in full swing at the moment and students all over the city will be revising like mad and taking exams most days. Nobody is really a fan of it and no student really wants to take exams but we all have to do it.

Our top tip is relax! We know it’s easier said than done but you really need some down time inbetween exams and revision. If you push yourself too hard then you may loose hair…and friends! We have taken a look at some of the best ways to wind down in Manchester and compiled our top 3!

#1 Go for a “quiet” drink

This means quiet. Try really hard not to get too carried away and end up on a mad bender at 5th ave. It may seem like a good idea at the time but you probably won’t revise the day after going out and the effects of a hangover on your brain could hinder concentration for up to a week!

If you live in Fallowfield you should definitely try The Ram & Shackle if you haven’t already. It’s great for a quiet pint and a chat with your mates (hopefully about anything other than revision).

#2 Go out for a meal

Eating well during the exam period is essential. You need to make sure that you have a mixed diet (not just microwave pizzas). Keep your brain healthy and take some of the weight off by getting someone else to cook for you.

There are loads of places to eat in Manchester but where is healthy I hear you ask? Well we have a couple of recommendations that have healthy yet satisfying dishes on their menus. For some lovely noodles and fusion food try Tampopo or Samsi. If you fancy Indian then try Shahi Masala. If you are still stuck for choice then just remember to search in the top bar!

#3 Enjoy some recreation

There are loads of things that you can do in Manchester to unwind and pretty much all of them are listed on this site either under the main profiles or under the events section itself.

You could try rock climbing for the first time or even go swimming or head out for a jog in the cold January air. If lounging around is more your type of thing then you could just simply stay at home and chill with your flatmates.
