The transformation of Manchester’s Libraries

We came across this inspiring video earlier today on how Manchester’s city libraries have evolved over time, and continue to keep improving. You’ve probably noticed that the Manchester Central library (next to the Town Hall) is undergoing major renovation works and is expected to be completed and reopened early 2013.

In this video Nicky Parker, the Head of Transformations at Manchester City Council, talks through the story of Manchester’s library system. Interestingly Manchester was the first provider of public libraries in the UK.
